Members of Fatah’s Eighth General Conference Unanimously Re-elect President Mahmoud Abbas as Head of the Movement

WAFA reported that members of the Eighth General Conference of the Fatah movement unanimously elected President Mahmoud Abbas as Head of the movement and Commander-in-Chief.

Conference members affirmed the importance of President Abbas’s role in leading the movement during this critical stage in the history of the Palestinian people and expressed their full confidence in his leadership.

President Mahmoud Abbas is the President of the State of Palestine and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). He is also among the founding members of the Fatah movement and has held leadership responsibilities throughout various stages of the Palestinian national struggle.
